Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts (SIVA)

上海视觉艺术学院（SIVA）成立于2005年，由上海市教委财务与资产管理事务中心、复旦大学、上海文化广播影视集团、上海报业集团等6家知名国有单位共同举办 。学校坐落于上海松江大学城，这里不仅是上海现代化的高等教育中心，更是拥有四千年历史的广富林遗址所在地。在这里，古老的中华文明与前沿的当代艺术完美融合。扎根“上海之根”，链接全球创意，上海视觉艺术学院秉承“忠诚 卓越 创新 和谐”的校训，以“人无我有、人有我新、人新我优、人优我精”的十六字方针，致力建设国内一流、国际知名高水平应用型综合艺术高校。

Founded in 2005, Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts (SIVA) is co-established by six prominent state-owned enterprises and institutions, including the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission’s Financial and Asset Management Affairs Center, Fudan University, Shanghai Media Group, and Shanghai United Media Group. Located in Songjiang University Town, Shanghai’s modern hub for higher education, the campus also sits adjacent to the Guangfulin Cultural Site, a historic area with over 4,000 years of civilization. Here, ancient Chinese heritage encounters the forefront of contemporary art, creating a unique dialogue between tradition and innovation. Rooted in “the origin of Shanghai” and connected to global creativity, SIVA upholds the motto of “Loyalty, Excellence, Innovation, and Harmony.” Guided by its educational philosophy of “uniqueness through originality, innovation through distinction, excellence through advancement, and refinement through mastery,” the Institute is committed to becoming a first-class applied comprehensive art university in China with strong international recognition.

SIVA 拥有5个二级学院，涵盖20个艺术专业，涵盖设计、美术、戏剧与影视、音乐与舞蹈和艺术管理等5个专业大类，提供跨学科的创新教育，打破艺术与科技的界限。2015年，QS世界大学学科排名中，学校“艺术与设计”学科位居全世界51—100名段，其后5次进入榜单，彰显学科实力和国际影响力。

SIVA comprises five schools and offers 20 undergraduate programs across five major disciplinary clusters: design, fine arts, drama and film, music and dance, and arts management. Emphasizing interdisciplinary and innovative education, the Institute actively breaks down boundaries between art and technology. In 2015, SIVA’s discipline of “Art and Design” was ranked within the global 51–100 band in the QS World University Rankings by Subject, and has since entered the ranking five times, demonstrating its academic strength and growing international influence.

学校拥有一支由国际大师、行业专家和资深教授组成的独特师资队伍，聘请包括艾斯林格、黑川雅之、赵无极、易中天、李安、成龙等在内的国际著名艺术家和学者担任教职。成立由意大利、俄罗斯、美国、英国、日本等大学专家组成的国际专家咨询委员会，持续引进世界前沿的艺术教育理念。学校师生活跃于世界舞台，曾获得红点奖、iF设计金奖等世界级奖项 。

The Institute boasts a distinguished faculty composed of internationally renowned masters, industry experts, and senior scholars. Esteemed artists and intellectuals such as Hartmut Esslinger, Masayuki Kurokawa, Zao Wou-Ki, Yi Zhongtian, Ang Lee, and Jackie Chan have been invited to teach and engage with students. SIVA has also established an International Expert Advisory Committee, bringing together specialists from universities in Italy, Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, and other countries, to continuously introduce cutting-edge global perspectives in art education. Faculty members and students are active on the world stage and have received prestigious international awards, including the Red Dot Award and the iF Gold Award.

学校突出应用型人才培养的核心目标，构建需学研产一体化的育人生态，锚定上海文化艺术产业发展目标，邀请行业专家、相关企业进校园，并积极拓展校外实习实践基地，与上海广播电视台（SMG）、上海博物馆等紧密合作，形成独具特色的业界与学界相结合的教学模式，将课堂搬进工作室和企业，确保学生毕业即具备行业竞争力。迄今，SIVA已培养14,000余名毕业生，活跃在全国乃至世界文化艺术领域，为繁荣文化艺术、服务大众需求作出积极贡献。

Focusing on the cultivation of application-oriented talents, SIVA has developed an integrated education ecosystem that combines learning, research, and industry practice. Aligned with the development goals of Shanghai’s cultural and creative industries, the Institute actively invites industry professionals and enterprises onto campus, while expanding off-campus internship and practice bases. Through close collaborations with organizations such as Shanghai Media Group (SMG) and the Shanghai Museum, SIVA has formed a distinctive teaching model that bridges academia and industry, moving classrooms into studios and enterprises. This ensures that graduates possess strong professional competence and industry readiness upon completion of their studies. To date, SIVA has educated over 14,000 graduates, many of whom are now active contributors to cultural and artistic fields across China and around the world, making meaningful contributions to cultural prosperity and public engagement with the arts.
